Conceptual artist Sam Curtis conducted a series of walks with historians, artists and craftsmen through the industrial neighbourhood of Park Royal in West London, before construction on a major housing development started. The conversations between Sam and his interlocutors, ranging from globalisation to the nature of wage labour, have been reproduced in this booklet, complemented with theoretical and art-historical notes in the form of footnotes.
The booklet has been designed in the traditional way of a play, emphasising the performative character of Sam’s project.
